At least a portion of the sheet section is positioned above the absorbent body (10) in the vertical direction. The absorbent article (1) further comprises: a joining section (50x) constituted of an upper-side arrangement region (25UP) belonging to the sheet section (25) and an adjacent sheet member adjacent to the upper-side arrangement region (25UP) on the non-skin side in the thickness direction, the upper-side arrangement region (25UP) and the adjacent sheet member being joined to each other by welding or adhesion; and a non- joining section (50z) in which the upper-side arrangement region (25UP) and the adjacent sheet member are not joined to each other by welding or adhesion.
