An absorbent article (1) comprises: an absorbent core (31) having an absorbent material containing an absorbent polymer (81); a liquid-permeable top sheet (21) that is positioned on the skin side relative to the absorbent core and contacts the skin of the wearer; and a liquid-impermeable back sheet (25) that is positioned on the non-skin side relative to the absorbent core. The absorbent article has deodorant particles (82) that contain a deodorant component and are separate from the absorbent polymer. In an absorbed state in which the absorbent article has absorbed body fluid, the average particle diameter of the deodorant particles is smaller than the average particle diameter of the absorbent polymer.
