Abstract: An absorbent article (1) comprises an absorbent body (10), a front waist section (20), and a back waist section (30), and further comprises a sheet section (25) disposed on the side closest to the skin of at least the front waist section (20) and the back waist section (30). The sheet section (25) and an adjacent sheet member adjacent to the sheet section (25) on the non-skin side are joined by adhesion or fusion. The sheet section (25) has a skin-side layer (25a) that comes into contact with the wearer's skin and a non-skin- side layer (25b) positioned on the non-skin side with respect to the skin-side layer (25a). The hydrophilicity of a skin-side fiber (25as), which is the base material fiber of the skin-side layer (25a), is higher than the hydrophilicity of the non-skin-side fiber (25bs), which is the base material fiber of the non-skin-side layer (25b).
