MUMBAI, India, Nov. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611099299 A) filed by Noida International University on August 17, 2026, for Accessible Smart Dose Reminder Medicine Strip.

Inventors include Priti Tiwari; Ritik Saxena; and Sameer Rastogi.

The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.

Abstract: The invention relates to an insulin-containing chitosan hydrogel and its preparation. Chitosan is dissolved in dilute acetic acid under continuous stirring to obtain a homogeneous polymeric solution. A phenylboronic acid derivative is introduced and reacted with the chitosan to form a functionalised polymeric matrix. Insulin is incorporated while the polymeric system is maintained at low temperature. A crosslinking agent is added, and the system is allowed to gel and form a hydrogel network. The hydrogel may be dried, lyophilised, formed into beads, formed into microparticles, or subjected to another selected pharmaceutical-processing operation. Hydrogel particles may be isolated, washed, and dried. The resulting product may further receive an enteric coating for improved protection in the stomach and delivery in the intestine. The invention is applicable to pharmaceutical hydrogel manufacture and insulin-delivery formulation.
