Abstract: Disclosed is an acetabular implant assembly comprising a modular shell having a continuous, unperforated structure with an outer surface and a peripheral face portion. Moreover, the acetabular implant assembly comprises a rim configured to be secured to a bone, wherein the rim includes a plurality of slots. Furthermore, the assembly includes a plurality of flanges, each flange comprising a tab structure configured to engage with a corresponding slot in the rim. Additionally, each flange features a fixation perforation configured to receive a bone fixation screw, and a face portion configured to overlap with the peripheral face portion of the modular shell. Lastly, the plurality of flanges is arranged to hold the modular shell from above when the modular shell is fitted into the rim, providing secure fixation without requiring fixation perforations in the structure of the modular shell itself.
