MUMBAI, India, Nov. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611109668 A) filed by G. L. Bajaj Institute Of Technology And Management on September 12, 2026, for Acoustically Isolated Voice-Operated Email Terminal With Transmission Confirmation Interlock.

Inventors include Ayasha Malik; Sumit Sharma; Vaibhav Pandey; Vijay Pratap Singh; and Yash Bisht.

The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.

Abstract: Disclosed is a voice-operated email terminal having a housing with a speech inlet and an audio-output passage directed away from the speech inlet. A microphone and speaker are acoustically coupled to the respective passages. A signal-processing assembly presents spoken prompts, converts captured speech into email-field data, forms an outgoing email, and plays the outgoing email through the speaker. A transmission interlock includes a user-operable electrical contact and a latch set upon completion of playback. Transmission remains inhibited unless the contact is closed while the latch is set, thereby coupling audible review to transmission authorization. Upon enablement, a network interface sends the outgoing email using SMTP and retrieves an unread email using IMAP for spoken playback.
