Abstract: The present disclosure relates to an activated marble dust particle from waste marble dust and method of preparation thereof. The activated marble dust particle of the present disclosure are used for removing methylene blue from an aqueous solution, the method comprising: i) adding 0.1 to 5 % w/v of the activated marble dust particle as defined above in an aqueous solution with agitation to obtain a reaction mixture; ii) allowing adsorption of methylene blue onto the activated marble dust particles followed by centrifugation to separate the activated marble dust particle and to obtain a clarified supernatant; and iii) determining the residual concentration of methylene blue in the clarified supernatant.
