Abstract: In order to provide a new agent for hair pigmentation treatment in subjects, the present invention suggests an active agent for use in the treatment of hair pigmentation, wherein the active agent activates, enhances, inactivates, blocks or dampens the cellular response of the taste receptor TAS2R50 or interferes with the expression of said receptor. Furthermore, the present invention is directed to the use of said active agent as a medicament, a cosmetic or a food supplement in therapeutical or non- therapeutical treatment of hair pigmentation. In addition, the invention is directed to a corresponding cosmetic or medical hair pigmentation regulating or modulating composition or food supplement.
