MUMBAI, India, July 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641080251 A) filed by Srm University-Ap on June 29, 2026, for Active Capacitors Loaded Linvill Negative Impedance Converter Circuit For Broadband Matching Of Electrically Small Antennas.

Inventors include Ms. Baby Priyanka; Dr. Jyotibhusan Padhi; and Dr. Ajay Bhardwaj.

The application for the patent was published on July 03, 2026, under issue no. 27/2026.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an active capacitors loaded linvill negative impedance converter (NIC) circuit (100) for broadband matching of electrically small antennas (ESAs) comprising a first bipolar junction transistor (Q1); a second bipolar junction transistor (Q2) arranged with the first bipolar junction transistor in a regenerative feedback negative impedance converter topology; a load-side compensation capacitor (C3) connected to an antenna load path; an RF input/interface capacitor (C4) connected to an input port configured to interface with an RF source/load; an inter-base feedback compensation capacitor (C5) directly connected between bases of the first (Q1) and second (Q2) bipolar junction transistors. The capacitor values are derived from an equivalent impedance model of the target antenna and are selected to synthesize negative reactance compensation while maintaining a substantially positive real input resistance near a standard fifty-ohm radio frequency interface.
