MUMBAI, India, Aug. 17 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511008025 A) filed by Sanskriti University on January 30, 2025, for Adaptable Walnut Shell Cracking Device.

Inventors include Dr. Rohit Kumar Singhal; and Danish Meiraj.

The application for the patent was published on August 14, 2026, under issue no. 33/2026.

Abstract: An adaptable walnut shell cracking device, comprising a U-shaped frame 101 having a first and second end, artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 103 installed on frame 101 to monitor positioning of walnut, an ultrasonic sensor mounted on frame 101 to monitor presence of wrinkles on walnut’s shell, plurality of telescopically operated pins 104 to engage walnut at second end, motorized curved slider to translate pins 104 for getting positioned as per positioning of wrinkles on shell, an angle sensor integrated on frame 101 to monitor angle of main line joining shells of walnut, linear actuator 109 integrated in link for applying pressure on main line, pressure sensor to detect pressure applied by link on walnut’s shell motorized gripper 201 for accommodating cracked shell and walnut, motorized clipper 203 to remove debris of cracked shell from the tray 202 .
