Abstract: The invention introduces a method executed by a network entity in a wireless communication system to improve the reliability of measurement predictions made by User Equipment (UE). The network entity configures the UE with measurement parameters, including an Observation Window (OW) and a Prediction Window (PW). The UE generates and sends a measurement report that includes predicted measurement values and an accuracy flag, which indicates whether the prediction accuracy has fallen below a predefined threshold. Upon receiving the accuracy flag, the network entity responds by reconfiguring the UE with updated parameters, such as an updated OW and PW, to enhance prediction accuracy. Additionally, the method includes configuring the UE with a prediction accuracy timer and defining a minimum number of consecutive measurement reports without the accuracy flag to stop the timer. This process helps maintain accurate predictions while reducing measurement overhead and improving network performance. Figure 5 (publication).
