Abstract: The present invention provides an Adaptive Directional Pulsed Illumination System for Wearable Animal Deterrence which is a srnart^ child protection device for protection against aggressive or approaching animals, particularly stray dogs. It features a multi- sensor threat detection system of mmWave radar sensors, passive infrared (PIR) sensors, ultrasonic proximity sensors, and optional Al-based vision modules, which constantly tracks surrounding movement and in real-time recognizes animal approach patterns. If an animal is detected in the vicinity, an embedded processing unit is used to make sense but of the different data from the various sensors, and to calculate the direction, speed and distance of the animal approaching.. . . L Depending on the threat parameters analyzed, the system can selectively activate directionally- oriented high-intensity LED clusters located around the wearable body assembly and emit adaptive pulsed illumination patterns specifically to the threat direction. The pulse frequency, brightness intensity, flash duration and pulse sequence are automatically adjusted based on animal-action, animal-movement, velocity and distance to the animals, thus enhancing the deterrence effect while minimizing unnecessary consumption of energy. The wearable assembly can be incorporated in belts, shoes, ankle bands, bags, body-mounted accessories, etc. to be portable and child-friendly within the context of the use. CM E o The invention also provides an optional wireless communication for emergency alerts and remote monitoring, as well as a rechargeable power management system. The proposed system is a silent, non-invasive, energy efficient and automatic animal deterrence system unlike the conventional animal deterrence systems that use manual activation, ultrasonic emissions or harmful chemical sprays.
