Abstract: The present invention relates to an adaptive dual-segment battery energy management system and method for electric vehicles. The invention logically divides a battery pack into a primary propulsion battery segment and a secondary intelligent support battery segment that are independently monitored and dynamically coordinated through an adaptive battery management controller. Distributed sensing modules continuously acquire battery operating parameters including voltage, current, temperature, state of charge, state of health, internal resistance, charging capability, and thermal distribution. A predictive analytics engine estimates battery degradation and dynamically adjusts energy allocation, regenerative charging, and balancing operations according to real-time operating conditions. A thermal equalization mechanism redistributes electrical loads to minimize localized heating, while a bidirectional energy transfer interface enables controlled energy exchange between battery segments. A fault management module isolates abnormal battery segments while maintaining limited vehicle functionality using the healthy battery segment. The invention improves battery efficiency, regenerative energy recovery, operational safety, thermal stability, predictive maintenance, battery lifespan, and overall electric vehicle performance through intelligent dual-segment energy management.
