MUMBAI, India, Nov. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611110328 A) filed by Chandigarh University on September 14, 2026, for Adaptive Flood-Resilient Smart Bus Stop With Integrated Safety And Environmental Control.

Inventor includes Mamta.

The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.

Abstract: An adaptive flood-resilient smart bus stop comprises a shelter having a platform and ground interface, a water level sensor, a controller unit, a drainage assembly, a power isolation unit, a passenger alert system, and primary and backup power sources. The controller unit compares a water-level signal with staged thresholds. Exceeding a drainage activation threshold actuates the drainage assembly to remove accumulated water, while exceeding an electrical safety threshold disconnects non- essential electrical loads. The backup power source sustains essential sensing, control, isolation, and alert functions. A rain sensor supports early flood preparedness, and temperature and humidity sensors enable climate-responsive control of a ventilation assembly. Validated readings and a recovery threshold control state transitions. The passenger alert system communicates flood warning, electrical-isolation status, and restricted-entry information, thereby providing an autonomous safety response during waterlogging, grid failure, and adverse environmental conditions.
