MUMBAI, India, Nov. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611116378 A) filed by Chandigarh University on September 29, 2026, for Adaptive Modular Solid-State Transformer With Input Parallel Output-Series Resonant Conversion For Medium Voltage Dc Applications.
Inventor includes Vikas Mittal.
The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.
Abstract: The present invention discloses adaptive modular solid-state transformer architecture for 5 generating a regulated medium-voltage DC bus from an AC or DC input source using resonant isolated conversion and intelligent digital control. An Active Front-End stage establishes a stable low-voltage DC link, which feeds multiple isolated CLLC converter modules connected in parallel at input. The outputs of these are connected in series to form scalable MVDC bus. Each module employs high- frequency transformer for galvanic 10 isolation and efficient resonant energy transfer. A LUT-based adaptive control implemented on DSP/FPGA continuously monitors voltage, current, and load conditions to dynamically select optimal switching parameters, ensuring Zero Voltage Switching, intrinsic voltage balancing among series modules, and uniform stress distribution. The architecture achieves high efficiency across a wide load range, low harmonic distortion, 15 and stable bus regulation without additional balancing hardware. The system supports bidirectional power flow, reactive power support, black-start capability, and fault-tolerant operation
