Abstract: The present invention discloses a computer-implemented adaptive rubric optimization system and method for outcome-based educational assessment. A data ingestion module receives learner scores, responses, grading records, evaluator data, and learning outcome mappings. Using this data, a rubric generation engine automatically creates evaluation criteria, performance levels, thresholds, and weights. A cognitive alignment module classifies tasks by cognitive complexity, while a fairness normalization unit corrects for evaluator bias, inconsistency, and cohort difficulty drift to refine these parameters. An outcome analytics engine then evaluates attainment levels and deficiency gaps against predefined learning outcomes. Based on these insights, an optimization engine leverages machine learning to continuously refine the rubric across assessment cycles. Updated rubrics are managed in a version-controlled repository and displayed via an explainability dashboard, ultimately enhancing fairness, consistency, scalability, transparency, and accreditation readiness.
