MUMBAI, India, Nov. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611109984 A) filed by Sharda University on September 14, 2026, for Adjustable Patellar-Support Retention Assembly With Repositionable Stabilization Module.

Inventors include Singh, Kartik Kumar; and Sachan, Kriti.

The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides a patellar-support retention device (100). The device (100) comprises a pair of hinge joints (102) rotatably coupling a pair of thigh-side links (104) and a pair of calf-side links (106), first and second straps (108, 112) and corresponding fabric bands (110, 114) for providing adjustable circumferential compression to posterior thigh and calf regions, and a patellar carrier (116) coupled to the thigh-side links (104) and the calf-side links (106) through a flexible fabric interface (120). The patellar carrier (116) secures a repositionable patellar stabilization module (118). Third and fourth straps (122, 124) extend over the patellar carrier (116) and are independently adjustable to retain the patellar stabilization module (118) against a patellar region. Conventional knee-support devices generally provide fixed or limited patellar positioning and do not provide coordinated adjustment of circumferential compression and patellar retention while accommodating displacement of the patellar support during knee movement.
