Abstract: An advanced neural implant system for assisting sensory perception and motor functions in a patient suffering from paralysis, comprising an implantable neural sensing arrangement configured to acquire electrical neural activity associated with motor and sensory functions; a neural signal acquisition module configured to receive the acquired neural activity; a neural signal processing module configured to process the acquired neural signals and generate processed neural information; a neural communication interface configured to establish communication between the processed neural information and an assistive system; a motor control module configured to convert interpreted neural information into corresponding control signals for an assistive motor mechanism; a sensory feedback module configured to generate feedback information corresponding to an external or assistive-system condition; and a control and processing unit configured to coordinate neural signal acquisition, processing, motor control, and sensory feedback, thereby establishing a bidirectional neural interaction pathway for assisting impaired motor and sensory functions.
