The application for the patent was published on July 17, 2026, under issue no. 29/2026.

Abstract: Conventional vehicle speed estimation systems generally rely on radar sensors, LiDAR devices, multi-camera infrastructures, and dedicated traffic monitoring hardware, which increase deployment cost, calibration complexity, and computational requirements. The present invention introduces ADVISOR-VS (Adaptive Perspective-Aware Vehicle Speed Estimation and Tracking System Using Dynamic Centroid Intelligence for Monocular Vision Sensors), an intelligent computer-implemented framework for real-time vehicle detection, tracking, and speed estimation using a monocular camera setup. The proposed system comprises a video acquisition module, preprocessing unit, vehicle detection module, Dynamic Centroid Localization Module, Perspective-Aware Calibration Module, Multi-Object Tracking Module, trajectory analysis unit, and vehicle speed estimation mechanism. The Dynamic Centroid Localization Module estimates vehicle position, displacement, and motion characteristics across consecutive frames, while the Perspective-Aware Calibration Module compensates for viewpoint distortion, spatial variations, and distance estimation errors. The processed outputs are integrated for speed computation, tracking validation, and traffic monitoring analytics. The system enables accurate vehicle speed estimation with reduced computational overhead and supports deployment in intelligent transportation systems, highway surveillance environments, smart city infrastructures, traffic violation monitoring systems, and automated road safety applications.
