MUMBAI, India, Nov. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611110339 A) filed by Chandigarh University on September 14, 2026, for Ai-Assisted Contact Imaging Gonioscope With Integrated Camera And Adjustable Illumination.
Inventors include Eram Khan; Iqra Jamaal Khan; Sachitanand Singh; and Saswati Dutta.
The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.
Abstract: The invention relates to ophthalmic contact imaging and provides a gonioscope having a biocompatible gonioscopic lens (101), an imaging arrangement, adjustable integrated illumination and a communication interface for transferring acquired anterior chamber angle image data to a portable processing unit. The processing workflow includes gonioscope placement (301), image capture (302), data transmission (303), image acquisition (304), preprocessing (305), AI-assisted classification (306), pathology detection (307), AI analysis (308) and automated reporting (309). The processing identifies disclosed angle landmarks, classifies the angle configuration and detects selected structural abnormalities, while generating annotated digital records for subsequent review and sharing. The arrangement combines contact gonioscopic visualization with digital acquisition and automated analysis in a portable examination platform.
