Abstract: The present invention pertains to a computer-implemented autonomous delivery drone platform intended for deployment in intelligent last-mile logistics and aerial delivery systems. The platform, identified as AeroDrone, provides a secure and fully autonomous aerial delivery environment through which authenticated operators can assign package delivery missions and obtain real-time telemetry, route visibility, and delivery confirmation without requiring manual flight control. The system includes an Al-based path planning engine configured to compute optimal flight trajectories by evaluating airspace restrictions, terrain data, weather conditions, and battery constraints, and an obstacle detection and avoidance module that integrates LiDAR, ultrasonic sensor, and camera data through a sensor fusion pipeline to identify and evade static and dynamic obstacles in real time. The platform further includes an automated takeoff and precision landing module configured to perform pre-flight safety assessments and execute GPS and computer-vision guided precision landing at designated delivery zones. A simulation and validation environment is incorporated to replicate real-world flight conditions and enable comprehensive virtual testing of all autonomous flight behaviours prior to field deployment, with automated algorithm refinement triggered when performance thresholds are not met. A dual-phase payload management mechanism is employed to sequence package attachment at origin and autonomous release upon delivery confirmation. The system additionally exposes matched delivery confirmations, flagged anomalies, and fleet telemetry through interactive dashboards to improve operational transparency and maintenance planning. By integrating secure authentication, Al-based path planning, real-time obstacle avoidance, automated landing, simulation validation, payload management, and fleet analytics within a unified architecture, the invention facilitates practical, scalable, and safe autonomous aerial package delivery.
