Abstract: The increasing deployment of electric-vehicle battery-swapping infrastructure has created a need for intelligent systems that can automatically assess the condition of a returned battery and safely handle it with minimal manual intervention. The present invention relates to an AI-Based Battery Health Assessment and Smart Sorting System with IoT-Enabled Safety Isolation for EV Battery-Swapping Stations. A battery placed at a Battery Input and Docking Unit (101) is monitored by a Voltage Sensor (102), Current Sensor (103), and Temperature Sensor (104), whose time-series readings are processed by a Processing Unit (106) executing an LSTM-Based State-of-Health Prediction Module (107) to estimate the battery's remaining health. Based on the predicted health grade, a Sorting and Classification Controller (108) actuates a Sorting Actuator (109) and Sorting Conveyor/Diverter Mechanism (110) to automatically direct the battery into a Grade-A Battery Rack (111), Grade-B Battery Rack (112), or Grade-C Reject Battery Rack (113). providing authorised personnel with real-time information regarding battery grading and station status, and a Notification Module (120) generating alerts upon detection of a fault or ejection event. The proposed system combines AI-based predictive health grading, automatic multi-category sorting, real-time safety isolation, and IoT-based remote management, thereby reducing manual intervention, improving grading consistency, and enhancing the safety of EV battery-swapping operations.
