Abstract: AI-BASED CONTACTLESS ATTENDANCE MONITORING SYSTEM USING FACIAL RECOGNITION ABSTRACT The present invention relates to an AI-based contactless attendance monitoring system and method using facial recognition. The system comprises a camera unit configured to capture a live image stream of a monitored area, a memory unit configured to store enrolled facial templates of registered users, a processing unit configured to process captured video frames, and a centralized attendance database. The processing unit detects a human face from the video frames, generates a face region, preprocesses the face region by cropping, resizing, normalization, and image-quality enhancement, and extracts a facial feature vector using a machine-learning-based facial feature extraction model. The extracted facial feature vector is compared with enrolled facial templates to identify a registered user based on a similarity score satisfying a predetermined recognition threshold. Upon identification, the system verifies whether attendance has already been recorded for a predetermined attendance session and automatically records attendance with a date stamp and time stamp, thereby preventing duplicate attendance marking and enabling secure attendance record management and report generation.
