MUMBAI, India, July 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641070637 A) filed by Peri Institute Of Technology on June 05, 2026, for Ai-Based Crowd Prediction And Dispatch System For An Elevator And Method Thereof.

Inventors include Dr. Magesh B; Dr. Mohamed Abbas S; Ms. Janaki M; and Dr. Rajmohan K.

The application for the patent was published on July 03, 2026, under issue no. 27/2026.

Abstract: AI-BASED CROWD PREDICTION AND DISPATCH SYSTEM FOR AN ELEVATOR AND METHOD THEREOF An AI-based crowd prediction and dispatch system (100) for an elevator is disclosed. The system (100) comprises a multi-modal sensor network (102) configured to capture real-time crowd occupancy data from floor lobbies and elevator cabins, and a deep learning prediction module (104) configured to generate probabilistic crowd occupancy forecasts based on historical and real-time passenger data. A control circuitry (106) assigns elevator cabins and optimizes cabin movement, while a predictive idle positioning module (108) strategically pre-positions elevator cabins during low-demand periods. A projection unit (110) maintains a virtual replica of elevator operating conditions and simulates dispatch strategies prior to execution. A passenger characterization module (112), a passenger clustering module (114), and a predictive door control module (116) optimize occupancy estimation, passenger grouping, and door operation. An energy optimization module (120) reduces power consumption by controlling elevator cabin operation based on predicted demand and passenger grouping conditions.
