Abstract: The present invention provides an intelligent Artificial Intelligence (AI) based system for automated detection and verification of counterfeit academic, professional and government issued certificates. We propose a system that combines Machine Learning (ML), Computer Vision and Optical Character Recognition (OCR) to extract textual, visual and structural features from digital certificates. It extracts important information like certificate holder information, institution name, registration number, official seals, signatures, QR codes, document layout and meta data to correctly identify the counterfeit, altered or tampered certificates.The proposed framework consists of image pre-processing, OCR-based text extraction, multi-modal feature analysis, AI-based forgery detection, QR code verification, digital signature verification, and database cross-verification for certificate authentication with security. Cloud-assisted deployment allows for scalable real-time verification with lower computational overheads and adaptive learning helps the AI model to identify novel forgery techniques. The invention provides a secure, efficient and scalable solution for automated digital certificate authentication in educational institutions, recruitment agencies, government bodies and certification authorities by integrating AI, ML, Computer Vision, OCR and cloud computing.
