MUMBAI, India, July 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641082913 A) filed by Dr. Savitha Sukumar on July 06, 2026, for Ai-Based Npa Risk Management System For Public Sector Banks.
Inventor includes Dr. Savitha Sukumar.
The application for the patent was published on July 10, 2026, under issue no. 28/2026.
Abstract: The present invention relates to an Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based system for Non-Performing Asset (NPA) risk management in public sector banks. The system comprises a Data Source Module (101), a Data Processing and Feature Engineering Module (102), an AI-Based NPA Prediction Engine (103), a Dynamic Risk Scoring Module (104), an Early Warning Alert Module (105), a Risk Management Action Module (106), and a Self-Learning Feedback Loop (107). The system integrates loan account information, repayment history, transaction data, behavioural indicators, and external economic factors to predict borrower default probabilities using machine learning models. Dynamic risk scores are generated to classify borrower accounts into risk categories and initiate early warning alerts. Recommended corrective actions include monitoring, restructuring, recovery planning, and collection measures. The self-learning feedback mechanism continuously updates prediction models using actual outcomes to improve prediction accuracy. The invention enables proactive credit risk management, reduction of NPAs, improved asset quality, enhanced profitability, and strengthened regulatory compliance in public sector banks.
