MUMBAI, India, Oct. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641118558 A) filed by Vishnu Institute Of Technology on October 04, 2026, for Ai-Based Predictive System For Localized Urban Flooding Using Multisource Data.

Inventors include Mr. Juvvala Bala Ambedkar; and Mr. V. V. S. Sarma Velavalapalli.

The application for the patent was published on October 09, 2026, under issue no. 41/2026.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an Artificial Intelligence-based predictive system for localized urban flooding and waterlogging using rainfall, terrain, drainage, land- use, soil, impervious surface, and historical waterlogging data. The system collects and preprocesses historical and real-time datasets, divides an urban area into predefined spatial units, and extracts flood-related features. An artificial intelligence or machine-learning model analyzes the extracted features to generate a localized flood probability. A risk assessment unit classifies the predicted condition into risk levels, while a GIS-based visualization unit displays spatial flood-risk information. An alert unit generates warnings, and a feedback unit incorporates subsequent observations to improve future predictions.
