Abstract: ABSTRACT AI-BASED REBAR COUNT AND SPACING MEASUREMENT SYSTEM INTEGRATED WITH BUILDING INFORMATION MODELLING FOR AUTOMATED REINFORCEMENT QUALITY INSPECTION The present invention discloses an AI-based rebar count and spacing measurement system (IARC-SUM) (100) for automated quality inspection of reinforcement in reinforced cement concrete columns. The system (100) comprises an image capturing device (110) with a collapsible aluminium stand (112), reference scale (116), and smartphone holder (114), a web-based application platform (120) comprising an Angular-based frontend module (122) and Flask-based backend module (124), an AI analysis engine (130) utilizing a generative AI model for reinforcement parameter extraction and defect detection, a computer vision processing module (140) using OpenCV for contour-based bar identification and centroid-based radius measurement, and a BIM integration module (150) interfacing with Revit through a Dynamo script (152). The system performs automated inspection of bar count, bar diameter, and inter-bar spacing, computes similarity scores for design compliance verification, and generates colour-coded compliance reports with validated similarity scores of 80–95 percent for acceptable configurations and 72–78 percent for defective configurations.
