Abstract: The present invention relates to an intelligent wearable assistive system designed to improve independent mobility for visually impaired individuals. The proposed smart vision aid integrates an ultrasonic obstacle detection module, an AI-enabled vision processing unit, an image acquisition module, and an audio feedback mechanism into a lightweight wearable glasses platform. The system continuously detects nearby obstacles using ultrasonic sensing while simultaneously capturing greal-time images using an embedded camera. The captured images are processed using an onboard artificial intelligence model for object recognition and environmental understanding. Based on sensor fusion between distance measurements and visual recognition, the system generates context-aware voice instructions that assist the user in safe navigation. Unlike conventional electronic travel aids that rely only on obstacle detection, the proposed invention combines multi-sensor perception with embedded artificial intelligence to provide comprehensive environmental awareness. The device is portable, rechargeable, energy-efficient, and capable of operating in indoor as well as outdoor environments without requiring continuous internet connectivity.
