MUMBAI, India, Aug. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202521058467 A) filed by Iiti Drishti Cps Foundation on June 18, 2025, for Ai-Based System And Method For Angle-Closure Glaucoma Detection Using As-Oct Images.
Inventors include Jahnavi Sai Ganta; Satish Kumar Panda; and Suraj Singh.
The application for the patent was published on August 07, 2026, under issue no. 32/2026.
Abstract: Disclosed is a system (100) for angle-closure glaucoma detection from anterior segment optical coherence tomography (AS-OCT) images. The system (100) includes an image acquisition unit (102) configured to acquire AS-OCT images. The system (100) includes processing circuitry (110) coupled to the image acquisition unit (102) and configured to preprocess the acquired AS-OCT images, segment anterior chamber structures from the preprocessed images, generate a three-dimensional reconstruction of an anterior chamber based on the segmented structures, map pachymetry data onto the reconstruction, and analyze the reconstruction with mapped pachymetry data to generate a glaucoma detection result. The processing circuitry (110) may employ a UNet++ neural network architecture for segmentation and extract angle opening distance (AOD) and trabecular-iris space area (TISA) measurements. The system (100) may include a user interface for displaying the reconstruction with mapped pachymetry data and measurements. FIG. 1 is selected.
