Abstract: The present invention relates to an artificial intelligence (AI)-based system and method for real-time detection, classification, and assessment of cyberbullying, cyberstalking, and online harassment across digital communication platforms in accordance with applicable provisions of the Information Technology Act, 2000, and other relevant Indian laws. The system comprises a data acquisition module, a natural language processing (NLP) engine, a machine learning-based behavioural analysis module, a contextual sentiment and threat assessment engine, and a legal compliance mapping module. The system processes publicly accessible or appropriately authorized digital communications, including text messages, comments, emails, and social media interactions, to identify abusive language, repeated unwanted contact, threatening expressions, impersonation indicators, and patterns of targeted harassment. A risk-scoring mechanism categorizes detected incidents according to their severity and urgency. The system further generates alerts, maintains time-stamped incident records, and facilitates secure evidence preservation with access controls and integrity verification. A legal mapping module associates detected behaviour with potentially relevant legal provisions for review by authorized personnel, without automatically determining criminal liability. The invention aims to improve early identification, incident response, and digital evidence management while incorporating privacy safeguards, human review, and secure data processing.
