MUMBAI, India, July 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511058414 A) filed by Deepak Kumar Gupta; Shrey Gupta; Meenakshi Gupta; and Sanaa Gupta on June 18, 2025, for Ai-Based System And Method For Restorative Alignment Simulation And Occlusal Distress Detection In Dental Treatment Planning.

Inventors include Deepak Kumar Gupta; Shrey Gupta; Meenakshi Gupta; and Sanaa Gupta.

The application for the patent was published on July 03, 2026, under issue no. 27/2026.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a computer-implemented system (100) and method for restorative alignment simulation and occlusal distress detection in dental treatment planning. The system (100) comprises a data input module (1) for receiving user-specific three- dimensional dental data, a preprocessing module (2), an arch alignment unit (3), and a tooth segmentation unit (4) for isolating individual teeth and tooth surfaces. An occlusal distress detection module (5) detects occlusal distress conditions including canine tip loss, incisor wear, palatal wear, broken or worn cusp tips, cervical abfraction, enamel loss, occlusal dimples, and occlusal interferences, and a severity scoring unit (6) assigns severity scores. A restorative alignment simulation engine (7) and a restoration morphology reconstruction unit (8) generate restorative morphology, while an occlusal alignment optimizer (9) optimizes the restoration based on registered bite, Curve of Spee, Curve of Wilson, and vertical dimension of occlusion. A jaw motion simulation module (10), a dynamic occlusal analysis unit (11), a clinician interface (12), and an output generation module (15) enable dynamic evaluation, clinician modification, and generation of fabrication-ready digital files and treatment reports.
