Abstract: The invention relates to medical image analysis and computer-assisted neuroradiological assessment, and particularly to automated detection of hydrocephalus from volumetric MRI data. A system receives a volumetric brain imaging study and imaging metadata through an imaging data intake module, standardizes the study using a preprocessing and noise reduction module, extracts three-dimensional ventricular features through a feature extraction module, and processes the study using an artificial intelligence-based image analysis module to generate a hydrocephalus likelihood output. A control stage conditionally activates a ventricular mask generation module for voxel-wise segmentation of ventricular anatomy, after which a quantitative analysis module computes physical ventricular volume and hydrocephalus- related indices from the ventricle mask and imaging metadata. A clinical decision support and monitoring module outputs hydrocephalus presence or absence, ventricular measurements, and assessment or monitoring results, enabling efficient and clinically actionable evaluation.
