Abstract: The technology platform is deployed on edge and cloud computing platforms to guarantee scalability, real-time processing, and low computation on the robot’s internal control system. A robot manipulator that uses the classification result diverts each package to its corresponding bin. Adaptive learning algorithms have been included to keep updating the model to cope with new packaging types and changes in waste materials. Tests reveal that the innovation surpasses other technologies using either a single sensor or vision-based waste sorting models in terms of performance in terms of precision and recall rates. Using an integrated approach of sensor fusion, hybrid deep learning systems, robotics, and deployment on edge and cloud computing infrastructure, this innovation presents an innovative solution for waste sorting and recycling.
