Abstract: ABSTRACT AI Digital Storytelling: A Promise to Cultural Preservation and Innovation explores the intersection of artificial intelligence and heritage conservation. Traditional cultural narratives, oral histories, and indigenous traditions face critical risks of extinction due to rapid globalization and generational shifts. This study examines how generative artificial intelligence—including large language models, AI-driven visual engines, and neural voice synthesis—can systematically document, translate, and revitalize endangered cultural assets. By transforming static historical archives into dynamic, multi-sensory digital narratives, AI bridges the gap between historical preservation and contemporary engagement. However, deploying artificial intelligence within cultural domains introduces complex ethical challenges. The paper critically addresses the risks of algorithmic bias, cultural misrepresentation, digital colonialism, and the unauthorized monetization of sacred indigenous knowledge. To mitigate these risks, this research proposes a co-design framework that prioritizes indigenous data sovereignty and community-led AI training practices. Ultimately, this study demonstrates that when guided by strict ethical constraints, AI digital storytelling does not replace human heritage; instead, it provides an innovative, scalable mechanism to safeguard humanity’s diverse cultural legacy for future generations.
