Abstract: The present invention discloses an AI-driven system and method for wound assessment. The system integrates multimodal data, including multi-spectrum imaging (visual, 3D, thermal), real-time biochemical data from a wearable sensor array (e.g., pH, temperature, uric acid), and longitudinal clinical data from electronic health records. A novel Al core engine, preferably using a multimodal fusion transformer, processes these disparate data streams to learn complex cross-modal correlations. The engine generates a predicted healing trajectory and, critically, a dynamic infection risk score. This score is a probability that updates continuously in response to new sensor data, enabling proactive monitoring and early detection of infection risk before clinical manifestation. An explainable Al module provides human-interpretable justifications for the risk score, and an alert system notifies clinicians of high-risk changes, facilitating timely and targeted intervention.
