Abstract: The present invention relates to an artificial intelligence (AI)-enabled, capacitive deionization (CDI) based system for intelligent management and utilization of reject water generated by domestic reverse osmosis (RO) water purifiers. The system comprises a reject water inlet module, a sensing subsystem configured to monitor water quality parameters including total dissolved solids, conductivity, pH, turbidity, and flow rate, an embedded control unit, an AI-based decision engine, a selectively operable CDI module, adaptive treatment modules, and an automated routing subsystem. The decision engine continuously evaluates water quality and determines whether direct reuse, selective treatment, partial desalination, blending, storage, or discharge is required. Treated or untreated water is automatically directed to suitable non-potable applications while safety mechanisms prevent potable misuse. The invention operates as a retrofit-compatible solution for existing RO systems, substantially reducing freshwater wastage, improving household water utilization efficiency, and promoting sustainable water resource management.
