Abstract: The present invention relates to an Artificial Intelligence (AI)-enabled intelligent toolbox system for automated tool accountability and prevention of Foreign Object Damage (FOD). The system comprises a toolbox enclosure (101), an imaging module (102) configured to capture periodic images of tools, an embedded processing unit (103) configured to execute deep-learning-based object detection models, a memory unit (104) configured to store baseline reference images and event logs, an illumination unit (105), a Light Emitting Diode (LED)-based alert generation module (106), a timer and escalation control module (107), a rechargeable battery (108) subsystem and a biometric authentication module (109). The embedded processing unit (103) compares captured images with stored baseline images to detect absence of tools without RFID tags or barcodes. Upon tool absence detection, the timer and escalation control module (107) automatically initiates a multi-stage escalating alert sequence like alarm signal, Short Message Service (SMS) alerts and electronic mail (e-mail).
