Abstract: The present invention relates to an AI-enabled reconfigurable 6G smart communication node with integrated reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS) and edge intelligence for ultra-low-latency networks. The communication node comprises a wireless transceiver subsystem, RIS having controllable electromagnetic elements, channel sensing subsystem, AI inference engine, edge intelligence processor, radio resource management controller, and RIS configuration controller. The system acquires channel state, mobility, interference, traffic, and propagation information and applies artificial intelligence to predict communication conditions and determine adaptive radio and RIS configurations. The RIS dynamically modifies electromagnetic propagation to improve signal quality, coverage, interference management, and communication reliability. Edge intelligence performs localized AI inference and resource optimization to reduce control and processing delays. The system jointly manages beamforming, spectrum, transmission power, bandwidth, RIS states, computational workloads, and application priorities according to latency, reliability, throughput, and energy requirements. Predictive configuration, multi-user coordination, mobility awareness, and confidence-based fallback control enable responsive communication for demanding 6G applications requiring ultra-low latency and adaptive network performance.
