Abstract: The present invention relates to an AI-enabled visual fingerprinting system (100) for lost and found item management. The system (100) comprises a user authentication module, an item data acquisition module, a preprocessing module, a visual fingerprinting module, a matching module, a claim verification module, a notification module, and a database. The preprocessing module processes uploaded item images through image normalization and enhancement operations. The visual fingerprinting module extracts distinctive surface characteristics comprising scratches, cracks, stickers, dents, and marks to generate visual fingerprint representations. The matching module compares generated visual fingerprint representations with stored visual fingerprint representations and identifies potential matches using similarity evaluation. The claim verification module performs ownership validation and claim processing, while the notification module generates matching and claim-related notifications. The database stores user records, item information, visual fingerprints, matching information, and claim records for system operation.
