MUMBAI, India, July 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202631078645 A) filed by Shri Sambit Kumar Sahoo; Prof. Dr. Amar Jyoti Patowary; and Dr. Daunipaia Slong on June 25, 2026, for Ai-Guided Hybrid Autopsy System For Digital Twin Based Forensic Examination.
Inventors include Shri Sambit Kumar Sahoo; Prof. Dr. Amar Jyoti Patowary; and Dr. Daunipaia Slong.
The application for the patent was published on July 17, 2026, under issue no. 29/2026.
Abstract: The present invention relates to an AI-guided hybrid autopsy system (100) for digital twin based forensic examination and augmented reality guided targeted physical dissection. The system (100) comprises a three-dimensional surface scanning module (1), a full-body imaging module (2), a DICOM data acquisition and storage module (3), a three-dimensional reconstruction and virtual autopsy module (4), an artificial intelligence data fusion module (5), an augmented reality model creation module (6), an augmented reality overlay guidance module (7), a targeted physical autopsy module (8), a three-dimensional exoscope/endoscope recording module (9), a recorded verification and correlation module (10), and a digital twin archive module (11). The system (100) captures pre-dissection external and internal cadaver data, generates a virtual autopsy digital twin, identifies forensic findings using artificial intelligence, creates AR overlays for real-time targeted physical autopsy, records the verification procedure, correlates virtual and physical findings, and stores a secure digital record for chain-of-custody verification and future re-examination.
