MUMBAI, India, July 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611065456 A) filed by Dr. Shabir Ahmad Sofi; and Dr. Saniya Zahoor on May 24, 2026, for Ai-Iot Integrated System For Early Detection And Control Of Apple Crop Diseases.

Inventors include Dr. Shabir Ahmad Sofi; and Dr. Saniya Zahoor.

The application for the patent was published on July 17, 2026, under issue no. 29/2026.

Abstract: The present invention discloses an IoT and Machine Learning based system and method for apple disease detection and prevention comprising an IoT sensing module (100), aggregation module (200), fog/edge processing unit (300), machine learning analytical engine (400), actuation module (500), communication network (600), and user interface system (700). The IoT sensing module (100) includes plant sensing unit (110), soil sensing unit (120), weather sensing unit (130), and imaging unit (140) for acquiring real-time agro-climatic and crop data. The aggregation module (200) and fog/edge processing unit (300) preprocess and structure the data for analysis. The machine learning analytical engine (400) predicts disease occurrence and severity prior to visible symptoms and generates control signals. The actuation module (500) executes targeted interventions including chemical spraying. The system operates in a closed-loop feedback mechanism enabling real-time, predictive, and zone-specific disease management with reduced latency, optimized resource utilization, and improved crop productivity.
