MUMBAI, India, Oct. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611104126 A) filed by Chandigarh University on August 29, 2026, for Ai-Iot Streetlight System With Adaptive Brightness And Wildlife Corridor Guidance.

Inventors include Nivedita Sharma; Manni Kumar; and Harish Nagar.

The application for the patent was published on October 09, 2026, under issue no. 41/2026.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an AI-IoT streetlight system with adaptive brightness and wildlife corridor guidance for intelligent control of outdoor illumination. The system comprises adaptive LED streetlights, a sensor network, an edge AI controller, an IoT communication module, and a cloud-based monitoring platform. The sensor network detects pedestrian and vehicle movement, ambient light, wildlife activity, and environmental conditions. The edge AI controller processes the sensor data and uses machine learning to classify activity and predict traffic and wildlife movement patterns. Illumination is increased upon pedestrian or vehicle detection, reduced during idle conditions, and selectively dimmed or spectrally modified upon detection of wildlife within designated corridor zones. Historical data enables predictive lighting control, while IoT connectivity provides remote monitoring, analytics, configuration, and fault reporting. The disclosed invention thereby reduces unnecessary energy consumption and light pollution while improving road safety and supporting wildlife-friendly infrastructure management.
