MUMBAI, India, July 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641085982 A) filed by Kg College Of Arts And Science on July 14, 2026, for Ai-Optimized Ph-Responsive Polyherbal Nanoformulation For Targeted Management Of Urinary Tract Infections.
Inventors include Neethirajan G; Loganayaki. S; and Shalini D..
The application for the patent was published on July 17, 2026, under issue no. 29/2026.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a pH-responsive nano-encapsulated polyherbal formulation for the treatment and prevention of urinary tract infections. The formulation comprises one or more plant-derived bioactive compounds encapsulated within a biocompatible nanocarrier system and further functionalized with a pH-sensitive polymer coating. The formulation is configured to remain stable under normal physiological urinary pH conditions and to selectively release the encapsulated bioactive compounds under the elevated pH conditions associated with infection. The relative concentrations and ratios of the constituent bioactive compounds are optimized using artificial intelligence or machine learning techniques to maximize synergistic action. The released bioactive compounds exhibit multi-target activity, including inhibition of bacterial adhesion, disruption of biofilm formation, and interference with quorum sensing pathways. The invention thereby provides a targeted, controlled-release therapeutic approach for the effective management of urinary tract infections.
