Abstract: The present invention relates to a smart home energy management system designed to monitor and optimize electricity consumption in residential environments. The system integrates Internet of Things (IoT) technology and machine learning techniques to enable intelligent monitoring and automated control of household appliances. An ESP32 microcontroller is used as the central processing unit, which collects real-time electrical parameters such as voltage and current through connected sensors. The collected data is transmitted to a cloud platform where it is analyzed using machine learning algorithms to identify energy consumption patterns and predict future energy usage. Based on the analysis, the system automatically controls connected appliances through relay modules by switching them ON or OFF according to energy demand, user behavior, and predefined energy optimization rules. The system also provides a cloud-based dashboard that allows users to monitor real-time energy consumption and appliance status remotely. By intelligently managing appliance operation and reducing unnecessary energy usage, the proposed system helps minimize electricity wastage and lower energy costs while improving overall household energy efficiency.
