The application for the patent was published on August 07, 2026, under issue no. 32/2026.

Abstract: The invention concerns a system and method for multimodal wireless occupancy sensing with enhanced robustness and richer analytics. The Wi-Fi Channel State Information (CSI) is collected from an access point and receiver, and processed to identify features indicative of interference such as signal-to-noise ratio, packet loss, CSI variance and amplitude stability. Subsequently, Hampel, median or moving average filters are applied on CSI data to suppress interference, and channel-model- informed features including Rician K-factor, coherence time, fade duration, level crossing rate, mean and standard deviation are extracted and classified using a Random Forest classifier. In parallel, acoustic, CO2, temperature, humidity and light sensors are used to estimate occupancy percentage. A context intelligence engine fuses the occupancy percentage with room metadata, timestamps and schedules to yield smart building management recommendations while preserving occupant privacy.
