Abstract: The present disclosure relates to an AIoT-based intelligent evapotranspiration measurement system (100) and method (200) for autonomous irrigation management, designed to optimize water usage and enhance crop yield. The system (100) comprises a field- deployable Environmental Sensing Node (102), an Intelligent Edge Controller (104), a Hydraulic Actuation Module (106), and a Local Status Interface (108). The sensing node (102) continuously monitors micro-climatic temperature extremes, which are processed locally by the Edge Controller (104) using the Papadakis Thermodynamic Method to calculate real-time crop evapotranspiration (ETc). When the calculated water deficit exceeds a predefined threshold, the system (100) autonomously activates irrigation pumps (106-2) or valves, completing a closed-loop Sense-Compute-Actuate cycle without requiring internet connectivity or external weather stations. Historical data is stored locally, enabling farmers to review water usage and adjust crop-specific coefficients for future cycles. The system (100) provides a cost-effective, reliable, and standalone solution for precision irrigation, reducing water wastage, maintaining optimal soil moisture, and supporting sustainable agricultural practices in remote field environments.
