Inventors include Thontaradhya, Srinivasa; Khan, Firdos; Zinic, Daniela; Dworatzek, Klemens; and Mahalingappa Chenna, Madhava.
The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.
Abstract: The invention concerns an air de-oiling unit (1), in particular for air compressors features a housing (2) with an inlet (3) and outlet (4), comprising a top flange (t) and a bottom cover (b). Inside the housing, at least one filter element (5) is bonded to end caps (6,7) present within the top flange (t) and bottom cover (b). This filter element (5) consists of a plurality of concentrically arranged tubes (8,9,10), each wrapped with intermediate filter media layers (11). The tubes (8,9,10) are secured to the end caps (6,7) and connected using one-piece grounding clips (12) in a form-locking manner which is electrically conductive and forms a reliable and electrically conductive connection between all electrically conductive parts of the air de-oiling unit. The clips (12) may be notched, and flexible with angularly arranged leg portions (l), a bent protrusion (p) and at least one flat contact surface (f). The filter media layers (11) comprise first (13) and second (14) separator media layers, and potentially a pre-separator (15) media layer, made from glass fiber or woven/non-woven materials that can be either wettable or non-wettable by oil. The flow direction through the unit can be inside to outside or outside to inside, and the tubes (8,9,10) are designed to withstand a differential pressure of at least 5 bar.
