The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.

Abstract: The present invention discloses an ambient elder-care system (100) and method. A single household unit has a non-contact motion sensor (102), a microphone array (104) and a speaker (106). A baseline module (114) learns, for each sensing domain and time of day, an individualised baseline of movement, ambient audio and routine timing. A deviation-reasoning engine (116) computes for each domain a deviation and a reliability and combines them into a joint deviation in which temporally associated deviations in different domains corroborate one another, and classifies the result as nominal, ambiguous or concerning. An ambiguous state triggers a context-specific spoken check-in with an adaptive response window, whose outcome is returned to the engine as evidence. Concerning or unresolved events are grouped by a consolidation module (122) into one incident with an urgency score and sent as one caregiver notification. Escalated, unresolved and low-confidence data are excluded from baseline learning.
