Abstract: ABSTRACT AN ACCESS-CONTROLLED TERRESTRIAL POSITIONING, NAVIGATION AND TIMING (PNT) ASSURANCE SYSTEM FOR USE IN GNSS- DENIED OR GNSS-DEGRADED ENVIRONMENTS The present invention relates to a terrestrial positioning, navigation and timing assurance system for operation in GNSS-denied or GNSS-degraded environments. A plurality of terrestrial radio transmitters emits band-limited burst signals comprising a ranging waveform segment and an encrypted timing-critical payload segment. Burst transmissions occur according to pseudorandom transmission schedules. Authorized receivers perform correlation-driven digital signal processing, payload authentication, timing-state correction, interference mitigation, integrity validation, and precision timing extraction to derive trusted positioning and synchronization observables. Unauthorized receivers lacking cryptographic authorization cannot derive trusted precision timing. The invention provides resilient timing assurance, synchronization continuity, and navigation capability for defence, maritime, critical-infrastructure, and autonomous applications operating under contested or degraded electromagnetic conditions.
